Beatitudes
for
Friends of the Aged Blessed
are they who understand my faltering step and palsied hand.
Blessed
are they who know that my ears today must strain to catch
the things they say.
Blessed
are they who seem to know that my eyes are dim and my wits
are slow.
Blessed
are they who looked away when my coffee spilled today.
Blessed
are they who with cheery smile stop to chat a little while.
Blessed
are they who never say: “You told that story twice today”.
Blessed
are they who know the ways to bring back memories of yesterdays.
Blessed
are they who make it known that I’m loved, respected
and not alone.
Blessed
are they who know I’m at a loss to find strength to
carry the cross.
Blessed
are they who ease the days on my journey Home in loving ways.

“My mother-in-law
spent ten
beautiful years at Alvernia Manor. It truly is a ‘haven of happiness’.
The devoted Sisters and dedicated staff make everyone feel like family.
Their kindness of heart and gentleness of manner enveloped the days.”

very happy here. Everyone is good. The food is good and we have
a very nice chapel. This is the best place; I would not want to
go anywhere else.”

I like living
at Alvernia Manor because of the location – it is beautiful
and breathtaking. The Sisters and all the staff are gentle, kind
and caring and they make us feel that we are really special people.
The food is good and we get to do lots of things in activities.
We have improved our minds and bodies. We also have the opportunity
to attend Daily Mass and to share prayers with our fellow residents.

The staff at
Alvernia Manor is very courteous. It is the cleanest place I have
ever been at. The Sisters and staff try to make everyone happy.
We are provided with plenty of activities, refreshments, trips and
excellent food.

There are so
many things to say. The people, the Sisters, the staff and all those
we come in contact with are friendly and help me to enjoy Alvernia
Manor.

“I love
it!” There is no place like Alvernia. The Sisters, staff and
residents are courteous. There is more to do then just shake a leg,
not a dull moment. Outings and places to go – exercises are
healthy for us. I love going to church. The parking lot is big enough
to walk around. Betty and Sister Cindy take us for ice cream if
we want to go and believe me “We like ice cream and rides!”

Alvernia Manor
is terrific! We have really good meals and more than enough at every
meal three times a day! The activities are entertaining and stimulating.
Everyone is helpful and friendly. We have a great dog who loves
all of us and vice versa. When I go to visit my family, I honestly
can’t wait to return “home!” The best part of
Alvernia Manor is our Chapel! We have Mass daily and the Divine
Mercy Chaplet at 3:15 every afternoon. It’s open all day for
private visits, which I appreciate very much.

I like Alvernia
Manor because it’s clean and comfortable and the meals are
tasty. The residents are friendly and gracious. I also appreciate
being able to go to daily Mass. Then there’s Duke –
he’s so special!

For my Mother Alvernia Manor is a place of miracles. This in not
a residence but a home filled with all the love and compassion of
what became her new and wonderful family.
