SISTER GEORGINE HROMA
Sister
Georgine Hroma
Assistant Administrator
Born and raised on the south east side of Chicago. I was the eldest
of seven children. We had a wonderful family life.
Being with our Franciscan Sisters in our St. George Parish was
the incentive for my entering our Franciscan Community. I received
my Bachelors in Education and Masters in Administration from DePaul
University.
Many of my years had been in teaching grades one through eight
and I held a position as principal. My places of assignment included:
Wisconsin, Ohio, Kansas and Joliet & Chicago, Illinois.
In the mid-1980’s I was assigned to Alvernia Manor as supervisor
of the second floor and in 1993 became the facility’s Administrator. In 2008 I turned over the Administrator's role to Sister Cindy and I am now happily her Assistant.
I love working with our residents. They provide many interesting
stories and enjoy having someone to listen to them. It’s very
rewarding when results of happiness is shown through the residents.
